Cindy Hyde-Smith Votes Against President Trump – Again
Appointed Senator votes for spending bill that doesn’t fully fund border wall
Jackson, MS – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Chris McDaniel today responded to another vote against President Donald Trump by appointed Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith.
“Cindy Hyde-Smith’s latest budget vote proves she is in Washington to do the bidding of Mitch McConnell, not the people of Mississippi,” said McDaniel. “Mississippians elected President Trump because they want the border wall now — not after elections. Mississippi’s Senate representation in Washington aren’t fighting for the wall.”
Earlier this month, President Trump tweeted “I would be willing to ‘shut down’ government if the Democrats do not give us the votes for Border Security, which includes the Wall! Must get rid of Lottery, Catch & Release etc. and finally go to system of Immigration based on MERIT! We need great people coming into our Country!”
Just yesterday, Cindy Hyde-Smith voted for a Senate bill that
Continues to fund Planned Parenthood
Continues to fund Sanctuary Cities
Continues to fund Obamacare
Doesn’t provide funding for the wall along the southern border of the U.S. and Mexico
McDaniel has made no secret of his support of President Trump and his Make America Great Again agenda. His top priority is fully funding a border wall, something he has called on Sen. Hyde-Smith to do repeatedly.
McDaniel has pledged to Mississippians never vote for any budget that doesn’t fully fund a wall.
